Kay Cochran "Springs" into action
at Hyatt Grand Champions Resort

Kay Cochran is passionate about her work, and it shows. From being selected as Director of Sales of the Year for Hyatt Hotels in 1995 to becoming Director of Sales and Marketing for Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in 1999 -- Kay consistently rises to the occasion and comes out on top.

After graduating from Michigan State University, Kay launched her career in the travel sales industry. During the past 19 years, she has gained the knowledge and the know-how to become the leader she is today. According to General Manager Hendrick Santos, "Kay is a very well-rounded salesperson. That's something you can only achieve with time and experience."

Hyatt HotelsView to a thrill

Originally from the Midwest, Kay enjoys having fun in the sun. "The Palm Springs Desert Resorts area is absolutely beautiful. I wake up each day in awe of the mountains that surround us," she says.

Kay knows the area's beautiful climate and location contribute greatly to the success of meetings. "Imagine a crystal clear 70-degree day in January. Your attendees are golfing on a lush, green golf course, relaxing by the pool or attending an outdoor event with the snowcapped mountains as a backdrop," she says. "It's virtually impossible to have a bad day here."

Catering to the needs of planners is what Hyatt Grand Champions Resort does best. The property boasts 30,000 square feet of meeting space. And, all 21 meeting rooms are equipped with new phone systems that support Internet access and teleconferencing. For outdoor events, the hotel is blessed with wonderful venues -- including the new Verbena Terrace that features unsurpassed golf course and mountain views.

Even amidst all of the great features and amenities, Kay believes it's the staff that sets the resort apart. "Our best asset is our employees," she says. "Our team understands what guest satisfaction is all about, and that makes my job much easier."

Above and beyond

If you're looking to have a truly majestic meeting or incentive, look no further than Hyatt Grand Champions Resort. "Our location offers something for everyone," Kay says. "We've got small town comfort and big city amenities -- a winning combination for meeting planners."

Another big plus for planners is working with Kay. "She's very knowledgeable of the local market, and she knows all of her clients by name," Santos says. "Meeting planners enjoy working with Kay because she focuses all of her attention on achieving their business objectives."
